Toei Channel released the first 30-second official trailer for the upcoming Mazinger Z movie as part of the latter's 45th anniversary of the franchise.

First presented at France's Annecy Film Festival last June 15, with Mazinger Z creator, Go Nagai attended the event, it was revealed that Mazinger Z will be an animation movie with the characters will be in 2D while the mecha are made in 3D. The story will take place 10 years after the original Mazinger Z anime, also produced by Toei in 1972, as you can see the character designs of older versions of Koji Kabuto and Sayaka Yumi (see below).

Voice casting for Mainger Z movie were also revealed: Showtaro Morikubo (who voiced Shikamaru Nara of NARUTO & Goro (Honda) Shigeno from MAJOR) will be the voice of Koji Kabuto while Ai Kayano (who voiced Darkness from Konosuba) will be the voice of Sayaka Yumi. Legendary Anisong artist Ichiro Mizuki, who also sang the original Mazinger Z theme song will also sing the theme for the new movie.

It was not revealed when Mazinger Z will be released in theaters, hopefully it will be announced soon, but for now, check out the first 30-second trailer of the movie.
