Hero Complex has posted images of few Transformers figures by Hasbro to commemorate the franchise's upcoming 30th Anniversary as convention exclusives at the biggest convention in the US, the San Diego Comic Convention.
First of the 3 SDCC Exclusive Convention sets are the Transformers Titan Guardians action figure set features five famous classic G1 characters: Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave and Grimlock. These five figures are the greatest Transformers characters ever, according to Jerry Jivoin, Hasbro’s global brand marketing director for Transformers. The figures are non-transformable and the designs of the characters features their classic Generation 1 designs. The five figure set is priced at USD 39.99.
Another convention exclusive set is Shockwave's Cloning Laboratory set which is based on the current series, Transformers Prime Beast Hunters which features a G1 recolored version of the previously released BH Voyager Class Shockwave (minus the BH armor) and an exclusive Commander class BH Predaking clear figure. It will include a cloning chamber base playset which can insert Predaking inside the chamber emulating scenes from the show. This convention set is priced at USD 49.99.
Finally, Transformers fans will drool for this figure, which an icing to the cake is the Titans Class Metroplex figure SDCC version. Unlike the upcoming release of Metroplex, SDCC Metroplex will include two blasters (instead of one in the regular release), metallic coated armor (which is rumored to be the Takara release-Metroplex version sporting metallic paint), chrome foiled stickers, a Legends class Scamper figure and an exclusive 12 piece Autobot and Decepticon mini figures to inhabit this massive figure. The SDCC version of Metroplex goes up for USD 149.99.
Thanks to Hero Complex for the heads-up.
