Its finally here!!! Fresh from the official unveiling last Friday, Bandai rolls-out the official images of the highly anticipated RX-0 Unicorn Gundam, immortalized in this beautiful 1/60 Perfect Grade kit.

So, how's this PG Unicorn Gundam compared to the previously released Gunpla kit incarnations? First is the new gimmicks incorporated it the kit, like its transformation gimmick from normal Unicorn mode to NT-Destroy mode without parts forming, the head unit gimmick transformation can be achieved at a flick of a switch allowing the transformation from Unicorn to Destroy modes without manual transforming/parts changing. Second is the Unicorn Gundam's articulation which has greatly improved than the previous grade kit incarnations. The wide-range articulation joints allows the Unicorn Gundam do some intricate poses such as pulling the beam saber from the backpack and holding its Hyper bazooka thanks to its telescopic mechanism incorporated in the kit and doesn't affect the articulation when the mobile suit is in Destroy mode.

As Bandai announced that the PG Unicorn Gundam that it has a 3rd mode gimmick, which is the Destroy Unchained mode which the mobile suit exposes more of its Psycho Frame compared to the normal Destroy mode, a feature gimmick that lacks in the previous incarnation scale releases. The detailing in this kit isn't left out, which as expected from Bandai in making high quality Gunpla kits. Like the previous Perfect Grade releases, the Unicorn Gundam has its own LED unit which lights up the clear Psycho frame parts which assimilates the glow of the Destroy mode just like in the OVA series. Unfortunately, the LED unit is not included in the kit, meaning you have to buy the separate special LED kit. Bandai has also posted information in its Bandai Hobby net English website along with a 5 minute presentation video shown below.

The PG Unicorn Gundam comes with 2 removable beam sabers stored in the backpack, Beam Magnum with 2 removable E-magazine packs; one pack can be mounted on the rear skirt armor, Shield that also transforms when in its Destroy mode, exposing the Psycho frame parts, 2 Beam Gatling cannons that can be attached to the shield, Hyper Bazooka which can also mounted on the Unicorn Gundam's back, and a special display base which it can store the accessories.

The PG Unicorn Gundam is slated for December 2014 release, just in time for Christmas and priced at 21,600 Yen. Thanks to TAG Hobby for the posted images.
