Following the preview episode of the upcoming Macross series, Macross Δ (Delta) that was aired last New Year's Eve, its announced that the actual series is set to air this coming April.

This announcement was made at the official website that the series will air this April, though no further details as of yet exactly when in April will the series will air or the time of airing. Also the official site has added the character profiles that are introduced in the series since the preview episode airing.

We all know that the Walküre is the idol group introduced in the series using their songs as a counter to the Var syndrome outbreak, so let's get to know its members. The group is consist of Mikumo Guiynemer who is the leader of the group (voiced by Ami Koshimizu), Kaname Buccaneer (voiced by Kiyono Yasuno), Makina Nakajima (voiced by Nozomi Nishida) and Reina Prowler (voiced by Nao Toyama).

The Delta squadron are the support group for the idol group Walküre using their VF-31 Siegfried Variable fighters to combat any threat. They also carry equipment that uses the latter to transmit their songs while at the same time protecting them from any attacks. The squad consists of their leader Arad Mölders (voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa), Messer Ielfeld (voiced by Kōki Uchiyama), Chuck Mustang (voiced by Shinji Kawada) and Ernest Johnson; making the first half Zentradi captain of a Macross fleet introduced in the franchise (voiced by Unshō Ishizuka).

The series also introduces the Aerial Knights, a mysterious group piloting the Sv-262 Draken III VF fighters from the Kingdom of Wind and serves as the antagonists in the series. Its also believed that they are a race called Windermere. The group consist of their leader, Roid Brehm (voiced by Kaito Ishikawa), Keith Aero Windermere (voiced by Ryohei Kimura), Bogue Con-Vaart (voiced by KENN), the Jussila twins, Theo and Xao (both voiced by Kei Minegishi).

Finally, aside from the main heroine in the series Freyja Wion (voiced by Minori Suzuki), a girl who hopes becoming a member of Walküre is revealed (in the preview episode) that she is a member of the Windermere race, the series also introduces 2 more main characters: Hayate Immelman (voiced by Yūma Uchida), the main hero in the series; a slacker and former cargo worker and Mirage Farina Jenius (voiced by Asami Seto) Second Lieutenant and a Delta squadron pilot, could it be possibly that she is related to Maximilian and Millia Jenius from the original Macross series, since given the fact of her last name and her appearance has distinct Zentradi/Meltrandi features.

Macross Δ is the fourth Macross TV series with its creator Shoji Kawamori is at helm serving as the series' Valkyrie mecha designer and Chief director, SATELIGHT is producing the series.
