ToyCon PopLife FanXperience 2019: Where Asia Comes To Play (June 28-30, 2019)

The biggest Toy Convention in the Philippines is back this coming weekend. As The Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention, in partnership with PopLife and Salt Lake City Comic Convention FanXperience brings you the ToyCon PopLife FanXperience which will happen starting this Friday, June 28.


Where Asia come to play as ToyCon goes to a fresh start with a new logo and a new perspective to cater to the growing millennial crowd, but also attract visitors from all over the world with a global perspective to promote the Philippines as the leading pop culture playground in Asia, that showcases Filipino creativity, innovativeness and talent through toys, games, entertainment and digital content. SPECIAL GUESTS



This year, 2 special guests will appear at this year's ToyCon; the stars from the AMC series, The Walking Dead: Michael Cudlitz, who played Sergeant Abraham Ford, and Steven Ogg, who played Simon, who also voices Trevor from the hit game, Grand Theft Auto V. Aside from the Walking Dead stars, the father of Street Art Ron English is coming as well, you may remember him with his POPaganda Designer Toys made for MINDstyle where his creations were sold at the event.


There's also a highlight for FanXperience this year as Battle DaNce Champion guests will make a movie, produced by PopLife, titled No Dance, No Life which will be filmed during the duration of the event. Guests such as World Dance Champions The Kings and Academy of Villains, the creator of Krumping dance style Tight Eyez, Former Bboy of the Year: Bboy Morris, Bboy Machine, Bboy Kareem, Krump co-founder Big Miho, and the 10-year old Krump champion Micro Twiggz.


ToyCon also brings in performers that will rock the stage this year. Guests such as Project Materia, Souldrift, Japh Dolls, The Lock Pickers, Mind Money Circuit, The Glass O, Kanjiru, Asterysk, Lunar Rhythm, Aidoru Sozai, CH4U, and Pastel∞Mix.


ToyCon is also bringing local comic book artists that will grace in the art gallery. Guests such as Combatron's creator Berlin Manalaysay, Pugad Baboy's Pol Medina Jr., Star Lord co-creator Steve Gan, Raymund Lee, Ed Tadeo, Miguel Mercado, Hubert Khan Michael, Raymund Bermudez, and Harvey Tolibao.

HIGHLIGHTS



As ToyCon brought a 22 ft. Voltes V statue in 2016, this year, PopLife will be bringing in a 22 ft. Batman statue; in a Chinese Imperial palace outfit as one of its main attractions. There will be a vinyl figure version of the caped crusader that will be sold exclusively at the upcoming event.


The creepy prop dolls / statues of Anabelle, Chucky and Pennywise from the movie Anabelle Comes Home, Child's Play remake and It: Chapter 2 respectively will be on display at the event, it is also this year's movie highlights along with Spider-Man: Far From Home.


ToyCon will introduce a new area: the PlayHub (which is located at the Function room, 2nd floor) where fans of toys, comics, and gaming converge at one area. In partnership with Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP) will host TOYCON’s Gaming Conference, Animation Council of the Philippines will showcase 50 original Philippine animated short films, the ToyCon stage where guest artists will perform there and also the yearly Toy Group gallery, hosted by the Philippine Toy Groups Association (PTGA) which will showcase their toy collection from various groups. Robot Pilipinas will also partcipate in the toy gallery as well.
