GMA Network Releases Voltes V Teaser Trailer

Voltes V fans got a surprise when GMA Network released a teaser trailer of the "rumored" Philippine Live Action adaptation of Voltes V, 2 days before Christmas.

The trailer was released yesterday (December 23) at GMA Network's official Facebook page.

Rumors of a Live action adaptation of Voltes V surfaced online last year (which I also posted the news on the Robot Pilipinas official Facebook page) and many fans (including me) are doubtful that this Philippine adaptation of the beloved Super Robot series would succeed, given the Network's history string of epic fail productions, such as Super Twins (a Sailormoon rip-off), Zaido (yes, the Filipino sequel version to Uchuu Keiji Shaider), and the infamous Victor Magtanggol (Hammerman, anyone?).

Chodenji Machine Voltes V (Anime TV series which ran for 40 episodes in 1977-1978 in Japan) originally aired on GMA in the late 70's until then President Marcos pulled it off the air before the final ending would be aired. The series would later return in the late 80's and it was aired in various TV networks and even re-dubbed it to Filipino (which originally aired in English dub).

The Live action adaptation of Voltes V will be GMA's newest line up of shows for the year 2020, which it will be revealed during the network's New Year countdown on December 31st.
