Ain't it Cool News has posted what seems to be an exclusive trailer of a Live Action version of Gaiking.
For those who haven't heard of Gaiking, its one of the popular Super Robots in the 70's titled Daiku Maryu Gaking (Demon Dragon of the Heavens Gaiking) produced by Toei Animation. It was an idea by Akio Sugino, but in reality it was created by Go Nagai; known for his Super Robot works such as Mazinger Z and Getter Robo. Toei deliberately took Nagai out in Gaiking as to avoid paying his royalty for his work. With this, Nagai sued Toei which lasted for 10 years. Nagai finally announced that Gaiking was indeed his work in Comicon 2007.
In 2005, Toei released Gaiking: Legend of Daiku Maryu as a Super Robot Revival in the new Millennium. After 5 years, Gaiking will be the 2nd Super Robot to be produced in a Live Action version (the first was Tetsujin 28 in 2005).
Here's the exclusive trailer of Gaiking, the CG in this trailer is a pure mind-blowing awesomeness.
Its slated for 2012 movie release lineup.
