Hasbro has literally going ape next year as they will release a Year of the Monkey Optimus Primal figure where the toy leak images first surfaced online via Weibo.

The figure is a recolor of Supreme Air Attack Optimus Primal that was released in 2002, sporting an Optimus Prime color scheme. The figure will be released as a celebration of the Year of the Monkey in our Chinese calendar and also in celebration of Beast Wars' 20th Anniversary.

Another footnote of the toy's color scheme, the figure should also be called Primal Prime, given as more homage to it, instead of Optimus Prime. No word as of yet when this toy will be released. For now, check out the toy and packaging images.
