This is all over the news feed today: Prepare for Devastation! Activision has revealed that they will release a new Transformers game based on the classic Generation 1 franchise.

The game's plot features Megatron plans to harness the Plasma Energy in an attempt to cyberform the Earth and he has help from the mighty Devastator and his Decepticon army to achieve that goal. The game will feature five Autobots to choose from  as playable characters: Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Grimlock, Sideswipe and Wheeljack, each of them transforms to their classic alternate modes, and each has their ability to do slam downs, counterattacks and infinite combos against the Decepticon baddies. There are 5 five difficulty levels that will provide additional challenge to all gamers and fans.

Since Devastation takes on a G1 storyline, the game will also feature original voice actors Peter Cullen, Frank Welker and Dan Gilvezan from the original G1 cartoon, reprising their respective roles in the game. Platinum Games is developing the game and its reported the game will be released on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, XBOX ONE and XBOX 360. I'm wondering if the game will be released on the Wii, PC or PS Vita as well?


Though there no further details if it will have a multiplayer feature or downloadable content. Well we have to wait until the official game release which is reported that its slated for October release. For now, check out these game screenshot images.
