Gundam News: New Information on Upcoming Gundam 00 Movie

Here's an information regarding the upcoming Gundam 00 Movie entitled "Gundam 00 Next Mission". Information source comes from Cosmic-Era Gundam News Blog last August 23.

The “Gundam 00 Next Mission” event has been held today at the Gundam Big Expo. Some information about the Mobile Suits of the movie sequel of Gundam 00 has been released :

• Gundam 00 Quanta, Setsuna’s unit. Exia’s lineage. It has binders and shield on its left shoulder, as weel as numerous Funnels (informal name).
• Gundam Harut, Allelujah’s unit. Harut and Marut are two angels mentioned in the Qur’an. The Gundam has a visor like the Astraea and the GN Archer. It can transform.
• Gundam Zabaniya, Lyle’s unit. The Zabaaniyah are the gardians of Hell in the Qur’an. Looks like a close-combat unit. It has a slim torso and big legs like the Virtue. It carries a “GN Armor lite” on its back.Main weapon : Double hand gun.
• Gundam Raphael, Tieria’s unit. See the Archangel Raphael. It has wired cannons in its fingers (like the Belphegor Gundam) and 4 cannons on its shoulders.

Unfortunately, there's no lineart yet of the Gundams mentioned, hopefully Sunrise could post the new designs soon.

Anime News: Gurren Lagann Premieres on Animax

Animax Asia has added their anime line-up this May with the addition of the hit anime, Gurren Lagann.


Gurren Lagann (whole title Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann) is a 27 episode anime series created by Gainax, the same production that brought groundbreaking anime titles such as Neon Genesis Evangelion, His and Her Circumstances (Karekano) and FLCL (Furi Kuri).

Gurren Lagann follows the adventures of Simon and his friend Kamina who dream of going to the Earth’s surface.

Their dream looks to set to become reality when a giant mecha crashes unexpectedly into their underground village to ignite an effort by humans to fight the Beastmen and regain control of Earth’s surface using their powerful robot, Gurren Lagann. Joining them in their mission is the sexy sniper Yoko Ritona, the mysterious girl Nia Teppelin and the crew of Team Gurren.

Gurren Lagann is directed by by Hiroyuki Imaishi, written by veteran playwright Kazuki Nakashima.

It will be premiered on Animax Asia on May 22 at 7:30 PM (SIN and PHI)

Gundam News: Gundam 00's Finale... Not yet over?

For those who already watched Gundam 00's previous episode revealing Ribbon's mobile suit, he does something on his sleeves and indeed it has.


SRW Hot News has finally revealed images of Ribbon's secret Mobile Suit, Ribbons Gundam (or Reborns Gundam, shown below) which this Gundam is also equipped with 2 GN Drives mounted on its forearms, the same system similar to the 00 Gundam. It seems the Setsuna will definitely have a showdown with Ribbon's final trump card after all. It will appear in the final episode of the series. Good news Daimos fans. Greattoys.net is selling an original DVD box set of the third of Robot Romance Trilogy, Tosho Daimos.

I took some pics of this rare box set, sorry for the crappy pics. The front box is a painted art of Kazuya (Richard in Filipino dub), Erica, Richter (Ulrich in Filipino dub) and Daimos on the background while the rear box showcases a manga art version of Daimos. Super Robot News: Mazinger Z is Back!

The famous Super Robot Hero that sparked Robotmania in 70's is now back in the small screen.

Shin Mazinger Z is a 26 Episode Anime series which retells the Mazinger storyline created by Go Nagai. The character and mecha designs of the new series is similar to the designs of Mazinkaiser OVA way back in 2001. Check out the mecha designs.
